YOU WON’T HAVE TO FIX IT IN POST

As an independent contractor who specializes in the videography of the video production process, there are mainly two circumstances I am presented with. Pre-production is underway, and a videographer is needed to step into a production already being prepared to capture footage referencing storyboards, a shot sheet, or previous screen grabs. Or, helping a client that is starting the planning and development phase for desired video content. In the event a creative team is needed, I have developed work relationships with many writers, producers, and editors who are available and ready to jump in. In both occurrences, I am prepared to involve myself in pre-production to ensure the shoot goes well and have meetings with the editor to ensure the footage is captured in a style that helps to tell the story. Below are some examples of how I can contribute to your next video.

Entertainment

How can we help you?

There are many types of production under the umbrella of entertainment. I have contributed to hundreds of hours of unscripted television and streaming service shows. As a DP on different crime documentary series and long-form documentaries, I’m responsible for setting up interviews, gathering b-roll, and directing re-creations with actors. Other unscripted shows I have been involved with are design shows, home improvement, news magazines, travel and food, and a variety of reality television programs.

Of course, there is also live entertainment! I shoot on stage with top-tier music performers, sometimes live to the venue, and sometimes live to the world. It’s equally exciting to cover sporting events. I’m experienced in live-action coverage, energy shots for transitions and bumpers, and player profile shoots involving green/blue screen, slow motion, intense lighting… and maybe a water spritz.

Finally, I will include corporate event highlights and conference summary videos as live-action entertainment as well. Sometimes the event goers are the audience on the final day, and sometimes the corporation uses the video as an incentive for next year’s event, either way, I am accustomed to working one-on-one with clients making them comfortable and capturing natural moments to make sure they make the cut at the next event. No matter what type of entertainment media you specialize in, I’m ready to jump in and help out however I can.

Promotional

Marketing teams have numerous ways to increase brand awareness. Some concepts are more straightforward like spot work, possibly a case study that uses customer testimonials, a product review, or “behind-the-scenes” content to give the intended audience a look behind the curtain. During times of hiring, highlighting an employee or department, and a company culture piece are great ways to promote yourself and attract potential candidates. Leaning into my storytelling background, a great way to showcase your company would be to produce a branded mini-doc or short film! Also, take into consideration that footage can at times be cross-functional resulting in multiple postproduction projects from one field shoot or studio production. Whichever course of action we take, I look forward to promoting your greatness!

Educational

Many people are visual learners and businesses have noticed! I have assisted many large corporations seeking internal informational videos to keep employees up to date with company growth and procedures. Some of these great tools include quarterly report updates, step-by-step job training modules, or coverage of a training seminar that could be streamed globally or edited together and emailed to individual workstations (the possibilities are endless). Educational content is also created for the customer. When not being heavy on promotion, content like how-to videos, product demonstrations, or online video courses are great ways to present yourself as a helpful source of information.

The need to create

My goal is to embrace a producer’s concept, shoot for the sequence, and get the best images possible to the edit.
